3Rensa is a Tokyo based free electronics improvisation ensemble comprised of Merzbow, Nyantor and Duenn. Together these three musicians create free roaming performances that push inward, suggesting a sense of an inner acoustic cosmos and perpetual unfolding.
Another World exemplifies this approach; colliding harsh electronics, with psychedelic undercurrents and unsteady rhythmic eruptions. Each piece, mixed by one member of the ensemble, is a deconstructed and re-arranged, a concréte style recreation of live performance, dipped in personal memory and reconstituted. The results reflect the individual interests and aesthetics of each member, whilst representing the trio as a whole.
A solid, intriguing journey into electronic-acoustic assimilation that complements and enhances their previous communion. It's not an ear blowout. It's a stroll through the burning and charred autumn woods with fascinating and ugly discoveries at every step. Be Well!!!!
A great finial to the project. It's like a glimpse of sunshine behind the clouds at the funeral. Caretaker's funeral. Like a disturbing calm in the ruins after fire. It brings to mind Basinski's classics. C'est fini. 2097
