allinall An incredibly, even surprisingly, soothing record, filled with sounds that scratch my back just right. I'm a bit ashamed I haven't found this sooner. Favorite track: NIMB #70.

Thibaut Devigne Excellent album of experimental electronic music, obtained through looping sounds generated from a mixboard with no input. It results in a really high standard electronica type of music that should also satisfy very much those looking for ambiant. Favorite track: NIMB #70.

edula This album tore my brain to pieces whilst in the supermarket. Clean up in aisle 3. Just amazing!

Florian Janyszek Not the best of the NIMB series but still a nice addition. Like #9, this album relies a lot on looping riffs created by the NIMB technique and less on longm harsh progressive track like on #8. Favorite track: NIMB #69.

about

From Toshimaru Nakamura

There used to be several small streams in west Tokyo, where I live. Some of them were natural rivers flowing from springs in this area. Others were from further west.

Towards the east, down to the sea of Tokyo Bay, there are others which were man-made, created to distribute water. Now, most of these rivers are covered by concrete lids and many parts of them are converted into pathways with nicely lined-up trees and benches. Some stretches of these rivers even have an artificial brooks on top of the lids to recreate the landscape of the old days. Sort of a “double decker river”.

Sitting on one of those benches, I think of the water flowing below, in the dark.
