Keith Lo Bue I was JUST YESTERDAY playing my 16-yr-old daughter the Gnossiennes as some of the most haunting melodies ever written - now next day the mystery deepens! Can't wait for the unveiling.

about

from Erik Griswold

Like a ghostly resonance from the music room of Erik Satie, Trés Perdu is an homage to the Velvet Gentleman.

We hear traces of his “Gnossienne no.3” through three audio veils. First there is the prepared piano, introducing chimerical overtones and undertones to the original composition. Next the work is glacially time-stretched, as if the sound reflections have just arrived to us from 19th century Montmartre (stretched by time?).

And finally, Lawrence English’s subtly beautiful treatment blankets the work in a blurred and haunting audio shroud.

Requiescat in pace Erik Satie.
